Housed in a 19th-century Ottoman building, the “Kostas Frontzos” Folklore Museum preserves the cultural soul of Epirus. The exhibition highlights the region’s heritage through opulent gold-embroidered costumes of Ioannina, Pogoni, Metsovo, Souli, Thesprotia and Northen Epirus. The collection also includes masterpieces of famous Ioannina silversmithing, featuring intricate filigree jewelry. Beyond the luxury of reconstructed bourgeois parlors filled with silver and fine porcelain, the museum displays the simplicity of daily life through woodcarvings and traditional tools.
