The male Pogoni costume reflects both the mountainous environment and the social codes of the Epirus region. A long white poukamiso acts as a foundation, over which the vraka or narrow trousers are arranged to allow freedom of movement. The silhouette is defined by the sigouni, a heavy sleeveless woollen coat that functions as the structural core of the ensemble, offering warmth and durability. A wide woven belt is wrapped tightly around the waist, securing the layers and often holding personal items. The look is completed with knitted wool socks and sturdy leather footwear, typically tsarouchia, suited to daily labor and travel across rugged terrain.
